學生將學習中國象棋的規則和基本計策。

課程會介紹中國象棋的歷史文化起源，可追溯到戰國時期，7 樣棋子的代表和它們各自的能力及遊戲的理論。

透過中國象棋的學習，學生可以了解到中國的太極、功夫、武術、書法、藝術怎樣融合在象棋中。

課程也會使學生了解中國象棋在現代中國和世界文化中的地位和發展。

Students will learn how to play and basic strategies.

An understanding will be sought of how Chinese history and culture going back to the Warring States period in ancient Chinese history led to the creation and development of Xiangqi including the choosing of the seven pieces and their powers and the theory of the game..

There will be an exploration of how other Chinese disciplines (tai chi, kung fu, wushu, calligraphy, art) interface with Xiangqi.

We will look into Xiangqi’s place in modern Chinese and World culture.
